Dub Club To Go Away From The Echoplex

Dub Club is a well-known reggae dance music party at the Los Angeles-based Echoplex. It has been entertaining people at the venue for more than two decades now. However, after October 27, 2021, it will no longer entertain guests there. Host and disc jockey Tom Chasteen stated that this Wednesday would be the final night of Dub Club at the venue for numerous reasons. Chasteen said that bad circumstances, including the coronavirus situation, on the whole, has made it difficult for the party to continue at the location.

The situation includes the vaccination mandates implemented in several LA nightlife locations, which include the Plex. Many artists canceled live performances because of coronavirus issues.

It is uncertain what lies ahead for Dub Club, but Chasteen stated that they do not plan to end it. Chasteen promised that some form of the reggae dance music party would re-emerge and continue moving forward. Chasteen also said that the new form could be pop-ups or weekly/monthly performances at different locations.

At the final party, there will be reggae legend King Yellowman’s performance backed by Chasteen, Boss Harmony, and The Sagittarius Band. Peanut Butter Wolf of Stones Throw Records will provide a party guest set as well.

Chasteen stated that the audience gave back the same kind of energy and enthusiasm that Dub Club showed at the location. They worked with legendary musicians such as Sugar Minott, Muma Nancy, and U Roy. Dub Club turned into a reggae music hub on the Pacific Coast as well as is renowned and respected around the world.
