LA’s Top Ten Rooftop Restaurants

You cannot compare rooftop bars and rooftop restaurants in LA as they are fundamentally different. They may serve your purpose but in different ways. Different from many top Los Angeles rooftop bars, these open-air locations provide quality food and stunning views as well as mostly require reservations for tables. Many rooftop restaurants are situated in the edifices of Downtown Los Angeles, and some of those are better suitable for breezy brunches than romantic dinners.

Merois

Other hotel restaurants in West Hollywood offer a comparable combination of ultra-chic and ritzy interior design and stunning urban vistas. However, only the latest fine-dining enterprise of Wolfgang Puck looks to do beyond just coasting on its appearance. Coupling aesthetics with appearance, Merois shows that the creations of a celebrity chef can delight and impress seasoned customers. It pays to have French Californian food items here with many culinary influences from Asia at the top of Pendry West Hollywood.

LA Cha Cha Chá

The mostly outdoor restaurant in the Arts District has a beautiful design, great food and impeccable cocktail line. It has a tequila-forward list of cocktails, a dessert menu that includes Mexican rice pudding with passionfruit and blueberry mazapán, and a dinner menu that emphasizes seafood. The tortilla chips made in house are thicker than almost every tortilla chip product you can find in LA. The chips will make you want to order guacamole. Combine it with some rounds of tacos and drinks at the sunset for a perfect way of spending a laid-back evening in LA.

Cabra Cevicheria

The restaurant on the 10th floor of The Hoxton exists courtesy of American chef Stephanie Izard. The Girl & the Goat restaurant location of Izard also has rave reviews from customers. In comparable Chicago-to-Los Angeles fashion, it is among the few locations of Izard’s small plates business concept with her usual playful and sharp takes on food items such as lomo saltado and bass ceviche.

The restaurant has something delicious and memorable to offer for every customer, including appetizers and desserts. The bright textures and flavors of tuna quinoa salad impress customers here. When it comes to dessert, the most outstanding product here is the picarones with caramel.

Élephante

There is no better rooftop restaurant in Westside than Élephante. A set of lush and cacti houseplants, as well as, chic and modern furniture in the restaurant set the scene for views of the sea from the Sunset Room. We recommend visiting the restaurant with friends in the daytime for brunch or lunch or with a date for a low-lit romantic night.

The dish that customers usually choose here is the baba ganoush dip with flatbread. That said, the restaurant also has quality pasta, pizza as well as a sunny brunch on weekends with soft polenta that contains eggs, sweet corn and crab. Given the quality menu and ambience of the restaurant, it is virtually not possible to get a table with no reservation.

Catch LA

Over a nightlife-oriented and glitzy stretch of WeHo, Catch LA restaurant is the Pacific Coast branch of the Asian-inspired eatery in New York City. It is also a definitive location to visit, with a stunning hallway with flowers, a patio, and open-air space for dining. You can also have stunning Hollywood Hills views from the restaurant.

According to the night on which you visit the restaurant, you would usually find a paparazzi or two who stake out outside. When you head upstairs, the rooftop area provides small plates like costly and well-made sushi and seafood, plus an expensive brunch ideal for a special occasion.

71Above

Located on the 71st floor of the Library Tower, the restaurant provides beautiful views of LA alongside a modern American menu from Javier Lopez. It is still the best rooftop dining experience that you can find anywhere in Los Angeles. You can have prix fixe menu options at the rooftop bar or in the dining space. The menu has dishes such as agnolotti, poached oysters, scallops, and steak tartar.

It may be a conservative menu, but the restaurant offers impeccable service and a fine dining menu that always impresses customers. For a much more culinary-geared and private experience, choose a table booth of its chef that provides diners with front-row seating to the open kitchen here.

Celestina

Around the Platform mall in Culver City, the low-key location has top-notch Mexican food and some amazing cocktails. It operates above The Shay and Etta as one of LA’s quieter rooftop locations. You will not discover watered-down drinks, an audience that is tough to please or ridiculous traffic in the lift from and to Celestina. The drinks and sunsets here are amazing, but the food is better. The food includes sweet corn riblets, kampachi crudo plates and chicken wings. The Taquiza Tower in Celestina is a fun option, particularly for a larger group.

Castaway

The Burbank patio restaurant is no best-kept-secret location in LA. It has long been among the go-to locations for special occasions in the Valley. The location has a room that gives views of not just the Valley and Downtown Los Angeles but also other parts. It has more modern and sleeker décor as well as a revamped menu. Whole fish, steaks, luscious pastas and charcuterie boards are usually the norm here. Those products make for excellent snacky fare, brunch or dinner on the patio with romantic views of LA.

Perch LA

Many rooftop restaurants may start often, but people still return to Perch as it is among the most beautiful rooftop bistros and bars in LA. Potted trees with twinkly lights, patterned tile flooring, and charming seats combine every night here for a restaurant scene rife with DTLA natives and their close friends. The interior with a Boudoir theme tends to be crowded, but people who book spots for dinner usually find a cozier setting before late-night visitors set in.

Margot

Its location is perhaps the main draw of Margot, but it is heartening to know that you can find a good meal at the Mediterranean-leaning location. It has a glittering glass atrium and a heated patio. Romantic couples and chicly dressed folks may be the norm at the restaurant, but its general atmosphere is not rife with hot air. Standout menu options include focaccia, wagyu bolognese pasta, patatas bravas, and flourless chocolate torte at dessert time.
